In 2014, the Government of India unveiled a far-reaching, visionary blueprint of a Digital India, one where the country has a Digital Infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, Governance and Services on demand, and Digital empowerment of citizens.
Digital India is an initiative of Government of India to integrate the government departments and the people of India. It aims at ensuring the government services are made available to citizens electronically by reducing paperwork. The initiative also includes plan to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks.
“Normally it is the industry moves faster; but with Digital India, the government has moved faster,” Ambani said, addressing a packed audience at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the capital . Ambani has launched a “Jio Digital India Start Up Fund” to encourage young entrepreneurs who are setting up businesses focused around the Digital India initiative.
